Brief

A consortium led by Edinburgh Community Food won a tender to produce an online training portal for food and health issues in Edinburgh. The portal was be an online communication tool with a directory of organisations, private and group messaging, events listings and calendar, a noticeboard and a discussion forum.

Tasks and outcomes

After researching the best platform to provide the required functions, we chose the BuddyPress extension to the popular Wordpress blogging and content management system. We carried out customisations to provide an exact match to the site's requirements, and designed a new visual identity to bind it all together. The result is a training portal that is easy for members to use and easy for the administrators to manage.
